Salamindanaw Film Festival (The Mechanics)


ENTRIES NOW ACCEPTED!

The inaugural SalaMindanaw Film Festival, organized by the SOCSKSARGEN Center for Film Arts, Inc., will be held in General Santos City from September 1st to the 5th, 2013. 

Regulations

SHORT FILM COMPETITION

Open Category 

1. This competition is open to all Filipino filmmakers of legal age who reside in the Philippines or other countries.

2. Films must not exceed twenty (20) minutes including credits.

3. All films must have their Philippine premiere at the Festival.

4. Dialogue should be in any Philippine language, and must have English subtitles. 

5. Interested parties may submit up to three entries.

6. An entry once selected can no longer be withdrawn from the competition by the filmmaker.

7. Due to copyright laws, the music used in the digital entries must be original, licensed, or in the public domain.

8. Members of the Organizing Committee are disqualified from joining the competition. 

9. A DVD copy of the film and an entry form must be submitted no later than August 1, 2013 to:

10. After the official selection of a film, the Festival shall be authorized to use excerpts of the film with a maximum of two minutes for promotions. The presenters of invited films in the official selection must send the following by, and no later than, 15th August 2013:

Digital file of three (3) photo stills;
Digital file of poster;
Digital file (.mov or .avi) of the film entry.

11. To ensure the success of the Festival, the Organizing Committee reserves the right to change, amend, modify or repeal any of the foregoing rules and regulations if it is in the highest interest of the Festival. 

12. The decision of the Board of Judges is final.

HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE STUDENTS IN GENSAN, HERE'S YOUR BIG CHANCE!

The inaugural SalaMindanaw Film Festival, organized by the SOCSKSARGEN Center for Film Arts, Inc., will be held in General Santos City from September 1st to the 5th, 2013. 

Regulations

INTER SCHOOL SHORT FILM COMPETITION

1. This competition is open to high school and college students who are currently enrolled in any learning institution in General Santos City. 

2. Films must explore the theme “Caring for the Seas.”

3. Only short narrative films will be accepted. No documentaries. 

4. Films must not exceed twenty (20) minutes including credits.

5. All films must have no prior public screening before the Festival.

6. Dialogue should be in any Philippine language, and must have English subtitles. 

7. Each school may submit up to three (3) entries duly certified and endorsed by an adviser or school administrator.

8. An entry once selected can no longer be withdrawn from the competition by the filmmaker.

9. Due to copyright laws, the music used in the digital entries must be original, licensed, or in the public domain.

10. Members of the Organizing Committee including their relatives up to second degree of consanguinity or affinity are disqualified from joining the competition. 

11. A DVD copy of the film, entry form and proof of enrolment (validated ID, certification from adviser and school administrator) must be submitted no later than August 1, 2013 to:

12. After the official selection of a film, the Festival shall be authorized to use excerpts of the film with a maximum of two minutes for promotions. The presenters of invited films in the official selection must send the following by, and no later than, 15th August 2013:

13. The Best Film shall receive a cash prize of PhP10,000, trophy and gift items. Separate jury prizes shall be awarded to films exhibiting artistic and technical excellence.

15. The decision of the Board of Judges is final.
