Sarangani Writers League invites writers from Sarangani to submit their literary works for possible inclusion in their first-ever anthology!
Sarangani Writers League is the organization of literary writers from Sarangani Province established in 2017. It has been fulfilling its vision of encouraging the creation, propagation, development, and appreciation of literature in the province by conducting writing contests, performance poetry, and spoken word events, book-giving, and storytelling sessions, and seminar-workshops, among others. Now, the organization embarks on a new project of producing an anthology of literary works by writers from Sarangani.
Interested contributors to the anthology must be born, residing/working/studying, or have resided/worked/studied in any of the municipalities of Sarangani. Authorship of the works may be sole or collaborative, but all collaborators should be from Sarangani.
Contributors may submit any number of creative works of any literary form (nonfiction, poetry, scripts, fiction, hybrid/experimental, etc.) and in any language spoken in Sarangani. Works must also be original (not a direct retelling of another work) and unpublished/out-of-print. Portions of a work and derivatives that can be considered original or different from the source work will also be accepted. There will be no theme for this maiden anthology, but works that violate ethical standards will be automatically rejected.
Contributors shall send their work to firstname.lastname@example.org with their name or pen name and a short bio note. The last day of submissions is 1 August 2020.
For questions and clarifications, send a message to the organization’s email address or their page on Facebook.
