Governor Pacquiao holds consultation, expects stronger partnership with mayors, agencies

ALABEL, Sarangani -- Governor Rogelio “Ruel” D. Pacquiao discussed with the municipal mayors and partner agencies of the provincial government on July 13 the long-term plans of the new administration.

During the consultation, Governor Pacquiao laid down to the mayors and other officials the priority programs, projects, and activities under his flagship program Ronda Probinsya.

This, the governor pointed out, is a better approach to craft ideas to start the first 100 days of his administration.

The governor’s battlecry is to “bring government services closer to the people and directly to the barangays.”

Pacquiao then cited their fruitful discussion manifested for a “stronger partnership” with the mayors and other partners like the Philippine National Police, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, and the Department of the Interior and Local Government towards realizing his governance direction.

The mayors and other officials, in return, gave their full support to the governor in his fight to end the “monster of poverty” in Sarangani.

Municipal mayors Alexander Bryan Reganit of Maitum, George Falgui of Kiamba, Zyrex Pacquiao of Maasim, Victor James Yap Sr. of Glan, Vic Paul Salarda of Alabel, and Atty. Tessa Constantino, mayor of Malungon, were present in the discussion, while Mayor Salway Sumbo of Malapatan was represented by Vice Mayor Jean Delos Santos.

Mayor Vic Paul Salarda anticipated the harmonization and integration of the provincial programs into the existing municipal programs.
