Gov. Pacquiao joins DEART and MROT Closing Ceremony, dons rank as MSgt

Capitol Grounds, ALABEL (November 19, 2022) - The Philippine Navy conducted a Joint Closing Ceremony of the Disaster Emergency Assistance Response Training (DEART) and Marine Reservists Orientation Training (MROT) and Donning of Ranks of new officers.

Governor Rogelio "Ruel" Pacquiao expressed his gratitude to the Philippine Navy for all the trainings that the province can participate in.

"Trainings such as the timely DEART will further equip the Sarangans with relevant information and accurate knowledge so they can be guided in decision-making before, during and after emergencies," he said.

Governor Pacquiao was newly donned as Master Sergeant (MSgt.) of the Philippine Navy Reserve Force.

Commander of Naval Reserve Center Eastern Mindanao Ronald Rey Labastida, PN (GSC) and Col. Zaldy Dioneda, PN (M) (GSC), who represented Col. Eric Macaambag, PN (M) (GSC) as Guest of Honor and Speaker, officiated the ceremony.

Governor Pacquiao said, "The rank of Master Sergeant of the Philippine Navy Reserve Force donned upon me today is both an honor and privilege, and a great responsibility that I am willing to fulfill with excellence."

Among the completers of the trainings were employees of the Sarangani Provincial Government Unit. They were challenged to apply whatever they have learned as marine reservist and be ready to serve during disaster and emergencies.

Gov. Pacquaio said, "Kapag dumating ang panahon na ang bayan ay nangailangan ng ating serbisyo, let us not hesitate in extending our resilient and dynamic brand of service – for God, for our country, and for our beloved Sarangani."

"Remember that you are the force multiplier of the Philippine Army," said Col. Eric Macaambag, PN (M) (GSC) through a message delivered by Col. Zaldy Dioneda, PN (M) (GSC).

The ceremony was also attended by the Provincial Administrator Atty. Ryan Ramos, Sarangani Police Provincial Director PCol. Nicomedes Olaivar, Jr., BGen Pedro Balisi, Jr., Lt. Col. Homer Matias, Lt. Col. Enrico Ramones, Lt. Col. Antonio Quimado, Jr. and other officials of the Philippine Navy.
