Empowering Roxas’ Community One Tri-Bike at a Time

In the bustling streets of Roxas, Oriental Mindoro, the gentle whir of tri-bike wheels now carries more than passengers—it conveys promise.

Through the livelihood initiative Padyak sa Pag-Angat, M Lhuillier is sparking a quiet revolution for local “padyak” drivers, who have long been tethered to a “boundary system” that limits their potential. By gifting tri-bikes complete with operating franchises to selected drivers, the project not only provides tools for work but also offers a means of earning a living. It is paving a pathway to independence, dignity, and progress.

For decades, “padyak” drivers in Roxas have relied on rented vehicles, often surrendering a major portion of their earnings to daily fees. This system, while functional, traps workers in a cycle of monetary constraint. Recognizing the need for change, M Lhuillier stepped forward, not just as a financial ally but as a catalyst for transformation.

Among the first to benefit are Mr. Darwin Paras, Mr. Winiefredo Quitorio, and Mr. Jatro Eustaquio—three men whose lives have shifted gears thanks to their new tri-bikes. They are no longer renters; they are owners, entrepreneurs, and heads of households with renewed agency over their futures.

With seven units now deployed under the program, the ripple effect is becoming visible. These tri-bikes are more than metal and wheels. They are symbols of freedom from exploitative systems and anchors for financial stability.

The launch event celebrated this shift with a community motorcade and vibrant promotional activities, reinforcing the message: when businesses invest in people, entire communities move forward. Participants received tokens of appreciation, but the true reward lies in the stories unfolding—of families better fed, children better schooled, and futures newly imagined.

M Lhuillier’s Padyak sa Pag-Angat is not just a corporate outreach program. It is a living testament to the belief that progress starts where empathy meets action. One tri-bike at a time, the brand continues to serve as the Tulay ng Pamilyang Pilipino, bridging hardship to hope, and steering communities toward a brighter, self-driven tomorrow.
