Barra Barista Café Marks 6th Anniversary with Week-Long Coffee Celebration in Dipolog

In celebration of its sixth anniversary, Barra Barista Café is brewing more than just coffee. It is brewing community, culture, and learning. 

From November 18 to 28, the café will host a series of activities spotlighting Dipolog as an emerging destination on the Philippine coffee map.

The celebration kicks off with a CQI Class on “Processing Good Practices” by Q Grader and CQI Instructor Emeline Sabado (Nov. 19–20).

A Coffee Farm Tour and Training follow (Nov. 21–23), facilitated by Q Robusta Grader Ariel Lastica and champion farmers Marivic Dubria and Dione Ellaga.

On November 24, GenSan Coffee Association members Adrianne Flaviano and Dave Michael Ibao will present “The Journey of the Coffee Bean: Farm to Cup.”

Brewing expert Kert-Jan Tabaña will discuss “Water Science in Brewing” on November 25. This will be followed by a cupping session under SCA guidelines, led by Q Robusta Grader and roaster Arnel Francisco Cadeliña on November 26.

Brewing champion Jean Michael Rasgo will conduct a session on “Brewing Parameters: Masters of Extractions” on November 27, alongside the Brewdown Competition. The Latte Art Competition wraps up the festivities on November 28.

Adding excitement to the coffee event in Dipolog City are special guests and respected judges who will grace the occasion.

“This milestone is a tribute to the vibrant Dipolog coffee community that has fueled our journey,” said founder Vincent Regidor. “We’re excited to keep growing with the city we proudly call home.”
